KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- In conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, the Western Michigan University women's basketball team released its upcoming MAC schedule for the 2025-26 campaign on Thursday morning.
The Brown and Gold return to an 18-conference game schedule this upcoming season, with nine games at University Arena. The Broncos open MAC play on the road at the conference's newest member school UMass on December 31, 2025, for their longest trip of the season. Western Michigan will begin home conference play on January 3, 2026, hosting Buffalo followed by welcoming Akron on January 7, 2026 for the two team's only matchup of the regular season.
With 13 teams in the league for 2025-26, the Broncos will play half of the league twice and the other half only once. Western Michigan plays its first of two matchups with Toledo on the road on January 10 before returning back to University Arena for two straight games against Bowling Green and reigning MAC Champions Ball State. The Broncos won't see the Cardinals on the road as they head to DeKalb for their last road conference matchup with Northern Illinois on January 21.
Western Michigan closes out the month of January facing its two in-state rivals, hosting Central Michigan at University Arena on January 24 and visiting Eastern Michigan on January 31. The Broncos remain on the road to begin February with their only game against Ohio with a trip to Athens on February 4. Western Michigan returns home for its second game of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on February 7, with the opponent to be determined at a later date.
The Broncos host Miami on February 10 for their only meeting of the season before a two-game road swing to Central Michigan on Valentine's Day and Bowling Green on February 18. Western Michigan hosts Northern Illinois on February 21 for a single game homestand. The Broncos then head across Lake Erie for a matchup at Buffalo on February 25.
Western Michigan will have its last home stand of the regular season starting on February 28 with UMass first visit to University Arena since 2014. The Broncos final home game is set for March 4 as they welcome Toledo to town. Western Michigan ends the regular season on the road at Kent State on March 7. The Broncos will look to return to the MAC Women's Basketball Championship at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio from March 11 – March 14.
