MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the opening round of the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship on Sunday with junior Megha Vallabhaneni leading the way for the team. 

Vallabhaneni shot an first round of 74 (+2) and is tied for 15th. She is just one stroke out of the Top 10 and two out of the Top 5. Bella Brooks was WMU's second finisher, shooting a 77 (+5) and sits tied for 27th. 

Freshman Lauren Lupinek opened her first career MAC Championship with an 80, while junior Jenna Hayes and senior Allyson Barth are just two strokes behind her to round out WMU's five.

As a team, WMU sits in 10th place with a combined score of 313 (+25).
