KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's golf team is ready to host its annual fall season tournament starting on Monday.
The Broncos will be welcoming five other teams to the Zoo on Monday and Tuesday for the annual WMU Bronco Fall Classic held at Moors Golf Club. Along with Western Michigan the tournament will feature teams from fellow MAC school Central Michigan, IU Indianapolis, Dayton, Loyola Chicago, and Wisconsin Green Bay. The Brown and Gold have played tournaments against almost every team coming to Kalmazoo except for the IU Indy Jaguars.
WMU hosts its annual fall tournament at the Moors Golf Club just south of the city line in Portage, Mich. The course was opened in 1979 after being designed by legendary golf architect Arthur Hills. The course is a par 72 course with a total course yardage of 6,831 yards. Notable features include playing through the Woodbridge Hills housing development, multiple bridges along the walking paths, and playing next to protected marshlands.
The Broncos are coming off a tournament last week in Iowa at the Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by the Iowa Hawkeyes. Overall Western Michigan finished 12th out of 16 teams with senior Megha Vallabheni having the best overall outing at 26
th individually with a score of 231 (+15) after carding rounds of 78-79-74. The Brown and Gold carded rounds of 309-311-316 to end with a final score of 936 (+72).Â
Both days of the tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. EST with a shotgun start across the course. Bronco fans not able to make it out to Moors Golf Club can follow along with
