MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan golf team opens the Mid-American Conference Championship, hosted by Ball State, at the Delaware Country Club on Sunday.
The course at the Delaware CC measures out to 6,053 yards and plays as a par of 72. Teams open with a round on Sunday, the second round on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
Western Michigan is fielding a lineup of junior
Jenna Hayes, sophomore
Allyson Barth, sophomore
Bella Brooks, freshman
Lauren Lupinek and junior Mega Vallabhaneni. Hayes tees off at 9:30 a.m., followed by Barth at 9:40, Brooks at 9:50, Lupinek at 10:00 and Vallabhaneni at 10:10.
Hayes, Brooks and Vallabhanenni all competed at last year's MAC Championship. Vallabhaneni finished in eight place, the highest finish for a Broncos since Jasmine Chee took fifth in 2017, after shooting a 230 (78-74-78). The Northview, Mich., native has been Western Michigan's top finisher at the MAC Championship every year of her career so far.
