ST. PAUL, Minn. – Alex Bump,
Pat Ferschweiler and
Tim Washe were honored at tonight's National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) awards banquet. The Broncos tied for the league lead with three individual award winners.
Bump was named the league's Forward of the Year after dominating throughout NCHC play. The Prior Lake, Minn. native produced a league high 15 goals in 24 games while adding 14 assists. His 29 points were the third most in the league this season.
Bump is just the second Bronco to ever win the NCHC Forward of the Year award, joining Jason Polin (2022-23). The Philadelphia Flyers draft pick had at least one point in 17 of the team's 24 conference games this season, and he was a unanimous First Team All-NCHC selection.
Washe was selected as the Defensive Forward of the Year, becoming the first Bronco in program history to win the award. Serving as the team's captain, Washe produced 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists this season. Along with that, he blocked 13 shots and posted a +10 rating.
Additionally, Washe has been the NCHC's best faceoff man over the last three seasons. He won draws at an impressive 61.4 percent clip in conference play this season. He was the only player in the conference to be above 60 percent.
For the second time in the last three years, Ferschweiler was named the Herb Brooks Coach of the Year. The fourth-year head coach made history with the Broncos in 2024-25, leading the Brown and Gold to the program's first ever regular season championship. The Broncos won the Penrose Cup by 10 points and tied the NCHC record for most wins in a regular season with 19.
Ferschweiler and the Broncos are also set to make a program record fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance later this month. The Brown and Gold have an NCAA leading 28 wins so far this season. He is two wins away from 100 in his career.
The Broncos will be in action tomorrow night against North Dakota in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Semifinals. Puck drop is set for 8:30 PM ET at Xcel Energy Center.
