Hockey Adds Exhibition Against Wisconsin to 2026-27 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey program has announced an exhibition game against Wisconsin will be added to the 2026-27 schedule. The two teams will meet on Oct. 24 at Lawson Arena. The game is slated for 6 p.m.

The Broncos are 4-5-0 all-time against the Badgers, including a win in last year's Kwik Trip Holiday Faceoff championship game. The 4-1 win was part of a 10-game winning streak during the middle part of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Brown and Gold have a slew of high-quality opponents coming to Kalamazoo for the last season at Lawson Arena. Along with the NCHC schedule, Ferris State, Notre Dame, Michigan and Long Island will head to Kalamazoo for regular season games. The Michigan game will be played outdoors at Waldo Stadium on Jan. 30.

Western Michigan has proven to be one of the top programs in the nation over the last five years, winning 131 games during that time. That stretch ranks third in the NCAA, and the Broncos have made five straight NCAA Tournament appearances. That run was highlighted by winning the 2025 NCAA National Championship.
