KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team picked up its first Mid-American Conference win of the season, defeating Eastern Michigan 194.825-193.975 at University Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Broncos had individual winners on vault, floor, and bars. WMU also posted a season-best team score on floor of 49.200. Senior
Cassie St. Clair had a season-best score on floor of 9.925 to pick up the win.
DonnaKathryn Roy,
Hannah Milton and
Kennedy Cooper all scored 9.825s.
Earlier in the day, Milton picked up a win on vault after she tied her career-high with a score of 9.825. The Broncos went 1-2-3 in the event, with Cooper taking second with a 9.775 and
Brooke Gelesko in third with a 9.750.
Julie Korfhage tied for first on bars after a score of 9.825, while
Molly Freeman finished tied for second with a 9.800. Freshman
Reilan Garvey and Moravansky were WMU's top finishers on beam, tying for third place with a 9.775.
The Broncos are on the road next Sunday at Bowling Green.
