SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Western Michigan golf team is out in sunny California for the San Diego State Classic at Bernando Heights Country Club, beginning on Monday.
It's the first meet of the Spring for the Broncos, who finished in the top five in four of their five Fall tournaments. WMU was last in action on Oct. 21-22 at the Terrier Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College.
The 12-team field of the SDSU Classic features some of the nation's best women's golf teams, including the top-ranked Stanford Cardinals. Also competing is No. 35 UNLV, No. 48 BYU, Colorado, Denver, Fresno State, Georgia, New Mexico, Oregon State, and Wisconsin.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 on Tuesday. The Broncos will field a team of Isabella Brooks,
Jenna Hayes,
Lauren Lupinek and
Megha Vallabhaneni.
Saanvi Venkatesh will compete as an individual.
