15 TO GO
Western Michigan graduate student
Hannah Spitzley needs just 15 more points to reach 1,000 for her career. After her 10-point performance at Ball State, she moved closer to the mark and would become the 29th player in program history to reach it. Taylor Williams was the last Bronco to reach 1,000 back in 2023.
12 TO GO
Spitzley is also on the verge of another milestone, entering the Top 10 in program history in career steals. The Westphalia, Mich., native now ranks 11th in program history with 180. She needs just 12 more to surpass WMU Hall of Famer Carrie Moore, who had 192 in her career (2003-07).
FROM DEEP
Western Michigan hit 10 three pointers in its last game against Ball State. It is just the third time this season that WMU has reached double-digit makes in a game. The Broncos hit 11 back on Jan. 11 in a 61-57 win at Northern Illinois. The first came back on Dec. 17 against Prairie View, when the team made 12.
D UP
Despite the loss, WMU held its last opponent under 40 percent shooting from the field. The Broncos have now held opponents under 40 percent shooting in nine times on the season, including a season-best 31.4 percent in a win over Toledo.
