CLEVELAND -- The Western Michigan gymnastics team swept the weekly Mid-American Conference awards after freshman
Reilan Garvey was named MAC Gymnast of the Week and senior
Cassie St. Clair was named MAC Specialist of the Week.
In Sunday's win over Northern Illinois and Wisconsin-Whitewater, Garvey had a career-high in the all-around with a score of 39.200 and won it for the first time in her career. She scored a 9.700 on vault, had a career-best score of 9.875 while winning on bars, she also tied a career-high and took first on beam. Garvey's score on bars helped WMU record the second-highest team score on the event in program history. She wrapped up the meet with a 9.800 on floor.
St. Clair took first on floor and tied for second on vault. On floor, she earned a score of 9.900 to win the event. It was her second time scoring at least 9.900 on floor this season. On vault she has a season-high score of 9.850. This is St. Clair's second MAC Specialist of the Week award this season.
The Broncos are back in action on Thursday night with an non-conference meet at Eastern Michigan, beginning at 6 p.m.
