KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan gymnastics team continues Mid-American competition on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Kent State.

LAST WEEK
The Broncos opened MAC competition at Ball State, falling to the Cardinals 194.675-195.550 and beating Wilberforce 194.675-173.100. Senior Halle Faulkner had the standout individual performance for the Broncos, winning on vault after posting a season-best score of 9.850.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FLASHES
Kent State is ranked 44th in the nation according to RoadToNationals.com and has had an average score of 194.325 so far this season, sitting just behind WMU's 194.388. KSU's team-high for this season was a 195.425, coming last Sunday in a win at Eastern Michigan. 

Sophomore Dani Fuertez is tied for second in the MAC on bars, with an average and high of 9.800. She is also tied for second on floor with an average and high of 9.850.  Sophomore Nene Alvine ranks second on beam with an average of 9.792 and a high of 9.800. 

SHOWING IMPROVEMENT
The Broncos turned in team-best scores on bars and vault at last weekend's meet at Ball State. The group combined for a 48.925 on bars and a 48.850 on vault. WMU also matched its second-best team score on floor at 48.925.

BEST IN THE MAC
Two Broncos sit atop of the MAC rankings through the first month of the season. Senior Halle Faulkner is top on vault with an average of 9.813 and a high of 9.850. Over on bars, sophomore Reese Samuelson is at the top with an average of 9.806 and a high of 9.825. 

ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan returns home next Sunday, Feb. 9 to host Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. Tickets are on-sale now at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets and the meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
