BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Western Michigan sophomore Reese Samuelson claimed the beam title and the Bronco gymnastics team had top-three finishers on vault, bars and floor at the Next Level Gymnastics Podium Challenge at Kellogg Arena on Saturday night.
Samuelson had a career-best score of 9.825 to share the title on beam with George Washington's Kendall Whitman. It marked the second-straight week that a Bronco has won on beam.
On vault, senior Cassie St. Clair tied for third after posting a score of 9.800. St. Clair later took second on floor with a 9.875, her highest score so far this season. Hannah Milton finished in a seven-way tie for fourth place after posting n 9.825 on floor.
On bars, sophomore Julie Korfhage posted a career-best score of 9.825 to finish tied for second place and just .025 out of first. Fifth-year senior Sarah Moravansky finished just behind Korfhage in third with a 9.800.
As a team, Pitt finished in first place with a score of 195.575. Illinois State finished second, with George Washington third and the Broncos fourth.
