Men’s Soccer Ties Program Best #4 Ranking in United Soccer Coaches Poll

UNITED STATES -- After a 1-1 tie to the University of Akron on Friday, August 30, and a 5-1 win over Villanova on Monday, September 2, the Western Michigan University men's soccer team improved its ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll to fourth in the nation. The ranking ties a program high in the poll.

The last time the Broncos ranked fourth in the nation was during the 2017 season, after the team captured a 15-2-1 record behind its first-ever Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship.

This week, the Brown and Gold continued its incredible unbeaten streak after tying Akron 1-1 on Friday, August 30, and defeating Villanova 5-1 on Monday, September 2, at WMU Bronco Soccer Fest. The tie and the win improved the Bronco's streak to a 25th game without a loss.

In addition to their overall streak, on Monday, men's soccer head coach Chad Wiseman claimed the WMU men's soccer program's all-time wins crown with a 126th head coaching victory with the Brown and Gold.

The men's soccer team will return to WMU Soccer Complex, on Friday, September 6, against #9 Northwestern University. Kickoff is slated for 5:30 PM. For tickets, visit  https://wmubroncos.evenue.net/events/SOC.
