GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Western Michigan University men's soccer team had six players named to academic postseason honors by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
After capturing the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship, Broncos
Alex Lindewirth,
Braden Stevanovic,
Connor Burkett,
Braxton Arpachinda,
Christian Shannon, and
Jonathan Stout were named to the CSC Academic All-District list. Arpachinda, Shannon, and Stout advanced to the All-American ballot, which will be released on Dec. 17.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Arpachinda was named to the All-District team after being one of only two WMU players to start in every match of the 2025 regular season. Through 21 matches Arpachinda scored four goals and assisted on four others for 12 points on the season. For his play on the field, Arpachinda was named to the All-MVC Second Team and was named the MVC Tournament MVP. Arpachinda has a 3.71 GPA and is majoring in financial planning.
Burkett appeared in all but one match through the 2025 season for the Brown and Gold and started in 20 of those. The senior added two assists on the season for Western Michigan while also being a stalwart contributor by getting balls into key places for other teammates to score on. Burkett has a 3.81 GPA in product design and will graduate this spring.
Lindewirth solidified his spot as the Broncos starting goalkeeper early in the conference season in 2025, starting in net in 16 matches. The redshirt junior appeared in 19 matches to lead WMU at 1,485 minutes in goal. During his time in goal, Lindewirth earned three shutouts and helped with a combined shutout against Adrian in September. On the season, the keeper had a winning 7-5-4 record with a 76.8% save percentage while only allowing 1.15 goals a game. Lindewirth has a 3.78 GPA while studying aviation flight sciences.
Shannon appeared in all 22 matches with the Broncos and started in 21. Anchoring the back line, Shannon spent a whopping 1,870 minutes on the pitch while scoring one goal and assisting on another. He was also named to the All-MVC Second Team with Arpachinda along with making the MVC All-Tournament Team. Shannon has a 3.98 GPA in business analytics heading into the second half of his sophomore year.
Stevanovic was a key bench player for WMU, appearing in all 21 matches and starting in 10 through the 2025 season. He scored his first goal with the Brown and Gold against Adrian while assisting on two other goals that match. Stevanovic also recorded an assist in matches against Detroit Mercy and Bradley for a season total of six points. Stevanovic has a 4.00 GPA in finance going into the final semester of his sophomore year.
Stout was a league leader in goals for the Brown and Gold with five scores through 22 matches. Stout ended the regular season as seventh in the Valley in goals and sixth in shots with 36 in 17 matches. Stout was also one of only two players with Western Michigan to start in every match during the season. For his work on the field, Stout was named to the All-MVC Second Team while his academic prowess was recognized as the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's soccer. Stout currently holds a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a degree in university studies.
