NCHC Announces 2024-25 Conference Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) has unveiled its 2024-25 schedule, with the action beginning on Nov. 8.

The Broncos are coming off of a 21-win season, which marked the third straight year with 20 or more victories. Furthermore, for the first time in program history, WMU made the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. Conference wise, the Broncos have finished in the top-three of the league two of the last three seasons.

To begin the 2024-25 conference slate, Western Michigan will travel to Omaha for a pair of games on Nov. 8-9. Colorado College then heads to Kalamazoo for a series on Nov. 15-16. Finishing off November's conference action, the Broncos will head to Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 22-23.

In December, the Brown and Gold will have just one conference series. Denver will be at Lawson Arena for a two-game series on Dec. 6-7. Western Michigan won its season series with Denver last season, outscoring the Pioneers, 21-14 in four games.

The NCHC season continues after the new year, with the Broncos having a bye week on Jan. 10-11. WMU will then head to Grand Forks, N.D. for a battle with the Fighting Hawks on Jan. 17-18. Following that, Miami will be in town on Jan. 24-25. Then, Western Michigan will travel to Colorado College on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

The rest of the February schedule features a pair of home series with St. Cloud State (Feb. 7-8) and Omaha (Feb. 14-15) and a road series at Arizona State (Feb. 21-22).

The Broncos will then finish out their home conference schedule with senior weekend on Feb. 28-March 1 against North Dakota. The final series of the regular season sees the Broncos traveling to Oxford, Ohio for a two-game set with Miami on March 7-8.

The NCHC Quarterfinals will take place at the home sites of the top-four seeds. The quarterfinal round is set for March 14-16. The Frozen Faceoff Semifinals will commence on March 21 at Xcel Energy Center, with the two winners squaring off in the championship on March 22.

The Broncos play Denver, St. Cloud State, Arizona State and Minnesota Duluth just once this season, with Denver and St. Cloud State coming to Lawson Arena. WMU beat everyone in the conference at least once last season outside of North Dakota. In 2023-24, the Broncos won the season series over Denver, Colorado College, Omaha and Miami.
