HIGH STAKES
With a win, the Broncos will guarantee a share of the Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship. WMU is currently 4-0 in conference meets and will head to Central Michigan next Friday to wrap up the regular season at Central Michigan.
WMU put itself in the driver's seat for the conference title after a dramatic 196.050-195.950 victory over previously undefeated Ball State.
STAY FOR THE SENIORS
At the conclusion of the meet and prior to the final score and event winners being announced, Western Michigan will take a brief pause to honor its senior class of Amanda Gruber, Sarah Moravansky, Payton Murphy, Dani Petrousek, Breckin Quoss and Josie Thomas.
The group of six helped WMU to unprecedented success over the past five years, seeing every team event score and total score record broken. They also helped Western Michigan to two MAC Regular Season Championships and two trips to the NCAA Regional Championships, including posting the best NCAA score in program history last year in Pittsburgh.
Three have won MAC titles in individual events and the all-around, while every single one has earned Academic All-MAC.
THE CONCLUSION
WMU wraps up the regular season next Friday at 6 p.m. at Central Michigan. The Broncos then head down to Muncie, Ind., and Ball State for the 2024 MAC Tournament Championship meet on Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m.
