Men's Basketball Visits Eastern Michigan on Tuesday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After winning a pair of home games last week, the Western Michigan men's basketball team hits the road this week for a pair of contests, starting on Tuesday night at Eastern Michigan.

END OF THE ROAD
Western Michigan wraps up its regular season road schedule with its final two away games this week. The Broncos visit Eastern Michigan on Tuesday and then head to Ball State on Saturday before returning home for the final week of the regular season. 

LAST TIME OUT
WMU completed its first-ever regular season sweep of Buffalo on Saturday as it dispatched the Bulls, 91-72 at University Arena. Seth Hubbard and B. Artis White led the Broncos with 18 points apiece, while Javonte Brown added 17 points. Western Michigan was also plus-nine on the glass (41-32) and plus-five (15-10) in turnover margin. 

THE 10-5-5 CLUB
In addition to tying for the team lead in scoring with 18 points on Saturday, B. Artis White handed out a career-high tying eight assists and pulled down five rebounds. It marked the second time this season White has had at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in the same game, having totaled 23 points, six rebounds and eight assists in WMU's Dec. 29 win over Aquinas.

BALANCED BRONCOS
Western Michigan had seven players score at least seven points in Saturday's victory over Buffalo and for the ninth time this season, had four players score in double-figures. Seth Hubbard and B. Artis White led the way for the Broncos with 18 points apiece, while Javonte Brown added 17 points and JaVaughn Hannah chipped in with 11.

BENCH BOOST
The Broncos got big production from their bench again in Saturday's win, as the reserves combined to exceed 40 points for the second consecutive game. Western Michigan's bench totaled 44 points, its second-highest total of the season, and limited the UB bench to just eight points. WMU's bench was led by Seth Hubbard, who had 18 points, and Javonte Brown, who netted 17.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Led by Anthony Crump (9th, 6.3) and Owen Lobsinger (10th, 6.2), Western Michigan ranks second in the MAC in overall rebounding (37.6), third in rebounding margin (+2.6) and leads the conference in offensive rebounding (12.4). The 12.4 offensive rebounds per game rank 41st nationally. Crump and Lobsinger have helped the Broncos take things up a notch in league play, as WMU leads the MAC in both total rebounds (38.9) and offensive boards (12.6), while ranking second in rebounding margin (+4.6) in league play. 

SHARING IS CARING
Western Michigan is third in the MAC in assists (13.5) behind the duo of Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro (6th, 3.4) and B. Artis White (7th, 3.4). In conference games, the Broncos are at 13.9 helpers per game (3rd), with White (5th, 3.7) fractionally ahead of De La Cruz Monegro (6th, 3.7).

DIALING LONG DISTANCE
The Broncos enter the week as the only team in the league with three players in the top-15 in made three's, with Seth Hubbard third at 2.4, B. Artis White ninth at 2.0 and Owen Lobsinger 15th at 1.7. Both Lobsinger (8th, .390) and White (10th, .378) have moved into the top-10 of the conference in three-point percentage as well. WMU has made at least one three-pointer in 418 straight games dating back to 2011. 

SERIES HISTORY
Western Michigan enters Tuesday night with a 65-59 advantage in the all-time series against Eastern Michigan and has won three of the last four meetings. After winning the first matchup in Kalamazoo back on Jan. 23, WMU is searching for its first sweep of the Eagles since the 2010-11 campaign. 

WHEN LAST WE MET
The Broncos used one of their best defensive performances of the season to win the first matchup against EMU, 73-56, on Jan. 23 in Kalamazoo. Western Michigan yielded season lows in points (56) and points in a half (20), while holding the Eagles to 32.3 percent from the floor, the lowest by a WMU opponent in 2023-24. The Brown and Gold had four players score in double-figures, led by Seth Hubbard's 15, and Anthony Crump had a double-double (10 points, 10 boards).
