NORMAL, Ill. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team finished with a Bronco in first place in every event as the team wrapped up the Illinois State Tri-Meet on Friday night.
Cassie St. Clair won the title on vault with a score of 9.850 and was followed by teammate
Halle Faulkner in second place with a 9.825.
Payton Murphy tied for first place on bars with a 9.850, won on floor with her second 9.950 of the season and also took the all-around with a score of 39.325. In addition to Murphy's performance, the Bronco lineup was exceptional on floor, combining for a team score of 49.500 for the second-highest in program history. St. Clair, Donnakathryn Roy and
Ally Schaupp all finished with 9.900's, while
Amanda Gruber had a 9.850.
Gruber also tied for first place on beam with a 9.850, while Murphy finished tied for third with a 9.800.
Western Michigan stays on the road next Sunday, heading to West Virginia for a quad meet featuring the Mountaineers, Pitt and
