COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Western Michigan's
Logan Case and
Andelyn Simkins are among the more than 200 women's volleyball players who will converge on the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center from Feb. 23-25 for the U.S. Women's National Team Open Program. The WNT Open Program is used for consideration for selection to both the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team.
This past fall, Case and Simkins were an integral part of a historical season for Western Michigan. Case was named both the Mid-American Conference Player and Setter of the Year, while Simkins collected the league's Defensive Player of the Year award. The duo helped the Broncos go 31-3, win both the MAC Regular Season and Tournament championships, and upset No. 7 seed Auburn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Following the season, both were named All-Americans by VolleyballMag.com, and Case was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, as well as the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team Member of the Year.
Jordan Larson, gold medalist and MVP from the 2020 U.S. Olympic Women's Team, will speak to the athletes. Representatives from all three U.S. women's pro volleyball leagues will also be in attendance.
