Men's Basketball Seeks Fifth Straight Win on Saturday Against Ohio

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Riding a four-game winning streak, the Western Michigan men's basketball team looks to improve to 4-0 in conference play on Saturday afternoon as it hosts Ohio.

KEEP IT ROLLING
Winners of four in a row and 3-0 in MAC play, Western Michigan wraps up its homestand on Saturday afternoon as it hosts Ohio. The Broncos are looking to start conference play 4-0 for the first time since the 2004-05 season when they started 6-0 in the league.

LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos made it a 3-0 start to conference play on Tuesday night as they rallied to beat NIU, 95-90, in overtime at University Arena. Western Michigan trailed by as many as 17 late in the first half, but slowly chipped away at the margin before a late 9-0 run helped WMU force overtime. With under two minutes to go in the extra session, the Brown and Gold rattled off six consecutive points to stay in front for good. B. Artis White led the comeback with a career-high 25 points, 19 of which came in the second half and overtime, while Seth Hubbard added 21.

BALANCED BRONCOS
For the fourth consecutive game, each Bronco who saw action made his way onto the scoresheet. Four players scored in double-figures for the Brown and Gold, led by B. Artis White's career-high 25 points. Seth Hubbard netted 21, giving Western Michigan a pair of players over 20 points in the same game for the third time this season, all of which have come in the last five games. 

WHITE HOT
B. Artis White has been integral to Western Michigan's winning streak, averaging 20.3 points and 5.5 assists per game during the four-game run. The redshirt junior has shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the floor and 50.0 percent (17-of-34) from three-point range during the winning streak. 

SUPER SOPHOMORE
Seth Hubbard posted 21 points in Tuesday's win over NIU, his fourth game with 20+ this season and sixth straight in double-figures. The sophomore has led Western Michigan in scoring eight times this season and been in double-figures in 13 of WMU's 15 games. Hubbard ranks seventh in the league in scoring at 16.9 points per game, and is second in the MAC in three's with 2.7 makes per game.

OWEN OWNS THE BOARDS
Owen Lobsinger collected a team-high 10 rebounds in Tuesday's victory over NIU. It was the third double-digit rebounding performance of the season for Lobsinger, who leads Western Michigan and ranks eighth in the MAC at 6.3 boards per game. 

CLEANING THE GLASS
After leading the MAC in offensive rebounding a season ago at 12.2 per game, Western Michigan is right back at the top of the league this season, averaging 12.4 offensive boards per contest. WMU has won the overall rebounding battle in six straight contests to climb into second in the conference in overall rebounding at 37.5 per game and third in rebounding margin at +2.3. 

SHARING IS CARING
WMU has been sharing the basketball well as of late, as it has averaged 21.0 assists per game during its four-game winning streak. For the season, the Broncos are fourth in the league at 14.1 assists per game, with B. Artis White leading the way at 3.4 per contest, sixth-best in the MAC. Joining White in the top-10 is Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro, who is ninth at 2.9 per game. White is also sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.6. 

DIALING LONG DISTANCE
WMU has hit at least one three-pointer in 406 straight games dating back to 2011. 

SERIES HISTORY
Ohio enters Saturday's game holding a 73-66 advantage in the all-time series between the programs. Through the years, the series has been dominated by the home teams, with Western Michigan owning a 46-19 mark against the Bobcats in Kalamazoo. Ohio has won five straight overall against the Broncos, with the last victory for the Brown and Gold in the series coming on Jan. 4, 2020, at University Arena. B. Artis White had 18 points and Titus Wright added 16 in that victory.
