KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, the Western Michigan men's basketball team has announced its conference schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The Broncos begin their conference slate on the road for the third consecutive season, as they open MAC play at Miami on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and follow that up with a trip to Buffalo on Saturday, Jan. 6.
The following week, Western Michigan returns to University Arena for its first two home conference games, as it welcomes Northern Illinois (Jan. 9) and Ohio (Jan. 13) to Kalamazoo. The Broncos then head back to the state of Ohio to visit Akron (Jan. 16) and Bowling Green (Jan. 20).
WMU returns home for three of its next four games, beginning with its two in-state conference foes, as Eastern Michigan comes to town on Jan. 23 and Central Michigan on Jan. 27. The Broncos travel to Toledo on Jan. 30, and then welcome Ball State to Kalamazoo on Feb. 3.
The Broncos are then set for three consecutive road games, starting on Feb. 6 at Kent State. WMU steps outside of conference play for a road game against a yet to-be-announced Sun Belt Conference opponent as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Feb. 10. Western Michigan returns to MAC play on Feb. 17 with a trip to CMU.
Four of the final six contests of the regular season for Western Michigan come from within the friendly confines of University Arena. Miami comes to Kalamazoo on Feb. 20, and Buffalo then arrives for a rematch with the Broncos on Feb. 24. WMU's last road trips of the regular season are to Eastern Michigan (Feb. 27) and Ball State (March 2). The Broncos finish out the regular season with home tilts against Bowling Green (March 5) and Akron (March 8).
The 2023-24 Mid-American Conference Championship is set for March 14-16 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
