KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up hosting the 2023 Mid-American Conference Championship at Kalamazoo Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
Kent State was the team winner after shooting a 54-hole total of 875 (+11). The Broncos finished sixth overall with a 933 (+69). KSU's Leon Takagi was the individual medalist with a 215 (-1) on the weekend.
Freshman Megha Vallabhaneni was the Broncos' top finisher, tying for 11th place with a 227 (+11). She finished off the tournament with a 74, matching her first-round total. Vallabhaneni had 33 pars and seven birdies over the 54 holes.
In her final round as a Bronco, senior Haley Barclay tied for 19th with a 233 (+17). Alissa Fish finished one stroke behind her with a 234 (+18) after shooting a 76, her best round of the weekend.
WMU's five were rounded with Natalie Samdal shooting a 239 (+23) after a final round of 81 and freshman Jenna Hayes shot an 81 for all three rounds to finish at 243 (+27).
