RALEIGH, N.C. – Western Michigan senior gymnast Payton Murphy tied for first place on floor with a 9.925 to highlight WMU's tri-meet against N.C. State and North Carolina on Saturday.
The mark was a season-best for Murphy, who also finished in second place in all-around with a score of 39.350, just shy of her career-best.
The Broncos finished a score of 195.525, their second-best of the season. The 23rd-ranked Wolfpack beat both the Broncos and the Tarheels after turning in a score of 196.275. UNC finished with a score of 195.975.
The floor was once again WMU's best event, combining for a 49.175. Ronni Binstock had WMU's second-highest score with a 9.850, while Cassie St. Clair had a 9.825.
Western Michigan returns to University Arena on Sunday to host Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. The meet can also be watched live on ESPN+.
