SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Bowling Green State University preps to host the Broncos on Wednesday, Feb. 1, BGSU enters the contest with an overall record of 18-2, tying the best 20-game start in program history. The Falcons hold an 8-0 record in home games this season. BGSU holds a seven-game win streak after defeating Buffalo, 64-61, and Northern Illinois, 66-50, this last week. Elissa Brett led the latest victory over NIU with 21 points and 10 rebounds, in addition to Jocelyn Tate's 15 points and six boards. Nyla Hampton and Lexi Fleming each scored eight on the night to make 42 percent from the field, while holding the Huskies to 21.4 percent.
Currently leading the Falcons in scoring is Brett averaging 13.5 PPG, 6.1 RPG, with a total of 21 steals. Brett has been one of the Falcons' top players all season long, registering two double-doubles over the last three games. Allison Day follows just behind in scoring averaging 11.9 PPG, 4.7 RPG, with 16 steals and seven blocks. Tate holds the reigns for rebounds, averaging 4.8 defensive boards and 2.0 offensive boards per game for a total of 6.3 boards per game.
On the season, Bowling Green averages 80.6 PPG on 46.2 percent shooting from the field. BGSU averages 37.1 rebounds per game for a +2.7 margin against their opponents. The Falcons on average attempt 12.0 free throws per game making 70.7 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe. BGSU adds 17.3 assists a game with 11.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per contest.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM WESTERN MICHIGAN
Western Michigan heads into play 9-10 on the season and 4-4 in the MAC after a 64-38 loss at Kent State Saturday. WMU has lost the last two games after winning the previous four contests. Saturday's scoring was led by junior guard
Hannah Spitzley with 12 points, followed by
Alli Carlson and
Lauren Audino with six points each. The Broncos struggled to find a shooting stride, going 15-for-55 (27.3 percent) from the field and 1-of-17 (5.9 percent) from beyond the arch.

Taylor Williams averaging 14.3 PPG, 9.1 RPG, with a total of 24 steals, and a team-high of 33 blocks. Followed by
Hannah Spitzley making on average 7.7 PPG and 4.8 RPG with a team-high 38 steals and 12 blocks.
Gabi Saxman follows just behind Spitzley with 37 steals, while
Maddie Watters leads the Broncos in three-pointers averaging 5.4 per game.
On the season, Western Michigan averages 64.9 PPG on 38.7 percent shooting from the field. WMU averages 32.4 rebounds per game for a -5.5 margin against their opponents. The Broncos on average attempt 11.6 free throws per game making 66.7 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe. WMU adds 11.8 assists a game with 10.2 steals and 2.5 blocks per contest.
