HOLLAND, Ohio – Senior Imogen Courtney paced the Western Michigan golf team as it wrapped up the opening round of the 2022 Mid-American Conference Tournament at Stone Oak Country Club on Friday afternoon.
 
Courtney finished with an 80 (+8) on the day and sits tied for 17th heading into Saturday's second round. She led the Broncos with eight pars and finished with one birdie. WMU sits in ninth place after a combined sore of 332 (+44), just two strokes behind Eastern Michigan. Kent State leads the tournament with a 269 (+8).
 
Freshman Ally Barth was WMU's second finisher, sitting tied for 29th with an 82 (+10). Alissa Fish is two strokes behind at 84 (+12). Western Michigan's top five was rounded out by Brooke Gibbons at 86 (_14) and Cameryn Lucia at 87 (+15).
 
Northern Illinois' Jasmine Ly leads the tournament after shooting a 69 (-3).
 
The Broncos open the second round on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
