BOSTON -- Western Michigan hockey junior goalie
Brandon Bussi has signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins, announced the NHL club on Tuesday night.
Bussi leaves Western Michigan after three seasons, posting a 46-25-5 record with a 2.61 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. Bussi also had four shutouts, all coming during the 2021-22 season. In his final season he set the program record for wins in a single season with 26, while helping the Broncos to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff Finals and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. In the NCAA Tournament me hade 30 saves in the overtime victory over Northeastern for the program's first win in the NCAA Tournament.
"Western Michigan gave me an opportunity that I will be forever grateful for," said Bussi. "The last three years have been the best years of my life. The coaches, team staff and athletic department provide us all the tools we need to be successful."
