BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Western Michigan gymnastics team was simply dominant on Saturday. Junior
Payton Murphy won the floor with a 9.925, junior
Amanda Gruber delivered a career-high 9.900 on beam, and the Broncos finished with a team score of 195.750, while Bowling Green was second with a 194.875 and Eastern Michigan placed third with a 190.175.
The Broncos had a 49.175 on the floor, and a 49.000 on vault to push past the Falcons and Eagles. Murphy finished with an all-around score of 39.300 (9.925 on floor, 9.800 on beam, 9.750 on bars and 9.825 on vault).
Sophomore
Sarah Moravansky came through with an all-around score of 39.275, and scored at least a 9.800 in every event. Meanwhile freshman
Cassie St. Clair and junior
Josephine Thomas scored a 9.800 on floor and vault, respectively. Freshman
Molly Freeman had a 9.800 on bars.
