MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Sophomore
Sarah Moravansky had an all-around score of 39.100, but the Western Michigan gymnastics team scored a 195.400, and fell short behind host Central Michigan (196.475), and Michigan State (196.500) on Friday night.
The Broncos (5-4) registered a team score of 49.200 on the floor, led by junior
Payton Murphy's 9.875. Moravansky had a 9.850, while
Dani Petrousek,
DonnaKathryn Roy, and
Cassie St. Clair all scored a 9.825.
Junior
Amanda Gruber scored a team-high 9.875 on the beam. On vault, Murphy led the way with a 9.875, and freshman
Abby Singh registered a 9.825. Moravansky's 9.850 on bars led the Broncos.
Up next, Western Michigan heads to Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 20 for a quad-meet against the Huskies, Iowa State and Central Michigan beginning at 4 p.m. EST.
