CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan women's soccer team landed 14 student-athletes on the 2022 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
The Broncos had the second-most in the conference, just one shy of Ball State and tied with Toledo. The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Of the 125 student-athletes that earned the honors, just 14 posted 4.0 GPA's, including WMU's Taryn DeShane (business law), Madison Salzenstein (accountancy) and Mira Pierre-Webster (nursing).
