Women’s Hoops Heads Across State to Battle the University of Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team is back on the road Wednesday, Nov. 16, set for a match-up at the no. The 23-ranked University of Michigan. The Broncos and Wolverines are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
 
WHERE TO WATCH 
Wednesday's matchup between WMU and U of M will take place in Ann Arbor, Mich. at the Crisler Center. The matchup will be available for streaming via B1G+. The link to the stream is listed above, and can also be found HERE.
 
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES (2-0 Overall) 
The Wolverines have started off the season red hot, with two explosive victories against Delaware State (83-30) and St. Francis (91-36). Laila Phelia leads in points per game with 20.5, followed very closely by Emily Kiser, who averages 20 points per game. Cameron Williams tops the rebounding charts with an average of seven rebounds per game
 
As a unit, Michigan averages 87 PPG on 48.6 percent shooting from the field. The Wolverine average 43 rebounds per contest, for a +17-rebound margin per game over their opponents. U of M averages 7.5 free throws per game and knocks down 83.3 percent of their attempts from the line. Michigan dishes out 24 assists per contest while averaging 15.5 steals per game.
 
LAST TIME OUT 
Western Michigan hopes to regain after a tough 49-97 loss to Michigan State at the Breslin Center this past Sunday with a trip to face Michigan away from home. Lauren Ross led the scoring for the Broncos with 17 points, followed by Maggie Stutelberg with seven and Hannah Spitzley with six. Taylor Williams contributed a rebound high of six, followed by

William trails behind with 24 points, 55.0 percent shooting from the field, an average of 6.5 rebounds per contest, and 40.0 percent from the free throw line, while adding two steals and two blocks. Spitzley adds to the Bronco's record with 11 points, earning a shooting percentage of 30.0 from the field, averaging 2.5 rebounds per game, while tallying five assists and one steal. 
 
As a unit, Western Michigan averages 50PPG on 35.9 percent shooting from the field. The Broncos average 21 rebounds per contest, for a -14.5-rebound margin per game over their opponents. WMU averages 9 free throws per game and knocks down 60.0 percent of their attempts from the line. Western Michigan dishes out seven assists per contest while averaging seven steals per game.
