KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis program and head coach
Dave Morin are excited to announce the singing of Ashton Adesoro (St. Paul, Minn./Harding), Alvin Altman (Canton, Ohio/Jackson), Drew Evans (West Chester, Ohio/St. Xavier) and Dimitri Moriarty (Beverly Hills, Mich./Brother Rice).
"We are very pleased to welcome four outstanding student-athletes from the Midwest and the class of 2023 to join our Bronco men's tennis program," said Morin. "Each of them brings a unique skill-set that will allow them to challenge for a starting line-up position immediately as freshmen and make significant contributions both on and off the court during their careers at WMU.
Adesoro is rated as a four-star recruit. He ranks 134th nationally and third in the state of Minnesota.
"Ashton is a fierce competitor who I first saw play at the Boy's Nationals in Kalamazoo," said Morin. "We liked what we saw so invited him in for a visit and watched him beat many of the best players in the Midwest at the Labor Day tournament up in Grand Rapids in September. He's had a superb win-loss record on Universal Tennis Rating during his career, and we expect big things from him during his time at WMU."
Altman is rated a three-star recruit. He is ranked 212th nationally and seventh in the state of Ohio.
"One of two recruits from the state of Ohio, Alvin reminds me a lot of Brady Crosby and Michael Calderone who were two of our all-time greats and multi-sport athletes in high school," said Morin. "As a 6' 4" basketball player we're excited to see Alvin start playing tennis on a year-round basis and showing off his athleticism on the tennis court."
Evans is also rated as a three-star recruit. He is ranked 217th nationally and eighth in Ohio, right behind his future teammate.
"Another great get for us from Ohio, Drew caught my eye this summer with several quality wins at the Midwest team cup event and the Midwest Closed. An all-court player he'll be versatile for us both in doubles and singles."

Moriarty is rated as a four-star recruit. He ranks 187th nationally and seventh in the state of Michigan.
"Dimitri is a former swimmer who is just hitting his stride as a tennis player. He's a very talented ball striker from the baseline who can also finish at the net, and we're super excited to have signed one of the premier players from the state of Michigan to be joining our program."
