KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team and head coach
Dave Morin have announced the additions of Ahn Hoang Pham, Jose Perez and Dominik Vonbank as transfers ahead of the 2026-27 season.
"We're very excited about the recent commitments of our three transfers and with their experience, talent and impressive results they will really help us elevate our program in the Mid-American Conference and on the national stage," said Morin. "They also fit our profile of being excellent students and will be enrolling in the Haworth College of Business."
Hoang Pham joins the Broncos after spending last season at South Carolina State, where he played No. 5/6 singles and No. 3 doubles. The Hanoi, Vietnam native helped the Bulldogs win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. He has a UTR in singles of 12.04 and was ranked 153rd by the International Tennis Federation in Juniors in 2024 and was a member of Vietnam's Davis Cup team in 2025.
Perez spent two seasons at Ferris State, reaching a national ranking as high as No. 24 in singles. He was 23-2 last season, leading FSU to a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship. The Quito, Ecuador native's most recent UTR in singles was 12.06. After the season he was named the ITA Division II Most Improved Player.
Vonbank joins the Broncos after two seasons of college tennis. As a freshman, he played at Division II Auburn-Montgomery and then played last season at Youngstown State. With the Penguins, he was a First Team All-Horizon League selection while playing No. 1 and No. 2 singles. The Vienna, Austria, native helped lead YSU to the Horizon League Tournament Championship,, finishing runner-up.
