KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team and head coach Dave Morin have announced the addition of Filip Poklemba for the 2026-27 season. 

"Filip is a dedicated and hard working student-athlete," Morin said. "He's the youngest member of our team based on his age but he has a tremendous amount of experience playing pro-level events and he'll be a great addition to our roster. We're super excited about his future with the Broncos."

Poklemba hails from Bratislava, Slovokia and has a UTR of 11.92 in singles. Additionally, he was the No. 1 ranked junior in Slovokia (U18 in 2024) and has a career high ranking of No. 274 in ITF juniors. Poklemba comes to Kalamazoo with a wealth of experience against some of the world's best players. He has played in several tournaments around the world, including the UTR Pro Tennis Series and the Futures 2026 Tournament. 

He joins a WMU team that is fresh off its 30th regular season MAC Championship. The Brown and Gold went 15-10 overall and 8-2 in conference play last season, ending the regular season with seven straight victories.
