Men's Tennis Earns ITA Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – Nine members of the Western Michigan men's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athletes, with the Broncos also earning honors as an ITA All-Academic Team.
 
Jackson Boone, Arjun Honnappa, Zac Favery, Peter Kuszynski, Fynn Lohse, Jannik Opitz, Brogan Pierce and Ferdinand Schlueter all earned the honors. To earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
 
The Broncos posted a program-best 3.74 GPA in the fall and another best GPA in the spring at 3.77, for a total of 3.758 for the entire season. WMU has now earned the ITA team honors for the 22nd time in program history. To earn the ITA All-Academic Team honors the team must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic year.
