Jack Randall (3.37, accountancy) earned the honors. Opitz and Honnappa were just two of five student-athletes in the conference to post 4.0 GPAs. WMU's six selections led the MAC.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
The group helped lead Western Michigan to a regular season MAC Championship, the 26th in program history and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The group is also the most Academic All-MAC selections for the Broncos since the 2015-16 season, when the team also posted six.
