CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its baseball weekly accolades on Monday with Western Michigan baseball senior outfielder
Ethan Hajdukovic earning MAC Player of the Week.
Hajdukovic showed off his power in last weekend's series split at Toledo, hitting the cycle in home runs over the weekend with a solo, two-run, three-run and grand slam against the Rockets. The senior outfielder belted a team-high four home runs with a stellar 13 runs batted in.
The Inverness, Ill., native led the Broncos over the weekend with a .471 batting average to go along with a .526 on-base percentage and a 1.235 slugging percentage. Hajdukovic hit at least one home in three of the four games in the series including a two-home run performance in WMU's 15-6 win on Saturday.
Hajdukovic began the weekend with a 2-for-5 performance at the plate with one run scored, six RBIs and one home run. Hajdukovic's home run was a grand slam in the top of the third inning marking the first grand slam for WMU since 2018. Hajdukovic's six RBIs was the third most in a single-game in school history.
In game two of the series Hajdukovic went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, two home runs and four runs scored. The senior outfielder became the second Bronco this season to belt two home runs in one game. He followed up his two-home run performance with a 1-for-3 outing at the plate with one home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
For the first time in the series Hajdukovic was held without a home run in the series finale but went 1-for-4 with one RBI and drew a walk. Overall Hajdukovic ranks second on the
team this season with a .302 batting average. After the weekend Hajdukovic now ranks fourth in the MAC with six home runs.
