KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Seven members of the historic 2021 Western Michigan Gymnastics team have been named Academic All-MAC by the Mid-American Conference. The selections were announced by the league on Tuesday, May 11.
To be selected, student-athletes had to record at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average, compete in at least 50-percent of contests on the season and be in at least their second full season at their current academic institution.

In competition this spring, the seven Broncos helped WMU to earn its first NCAA Regional bid in the modern era. Murphy was named MAC Gymnast of the Year while also earning first team All-MAC honors. Binstock was named to the MAC All-Tournament team after scoring a 9.9 in floor exercise at the 2021 MAC Championships.
