CLEVELAND – For the third time this season the Western Michigan men's tennis doubles pairing of
Zac Faveri and
Jannik Opitz have earned Mid-American Conference Men's Doubles Team of the Week.
Faveri and Opitz helped the Broncos go 2-0 on the weekend and secure the doubles point in both victories, while playing at No.1. Against No. 44 Northern Illinois they defeated Bor Schweiger Muzar and Mikael Vollbach 6-4 as the Broncos went on to defeat the Huskies, 6-1, in a battle of the MAC's unbeaten teams. Against Butler they defeated Michael Dickson and Thomas Brennan, 7-5, as WMU beat the Bulldogs 7-0. The pair are 17-1 on the season and 5-0 in MAC play.
The Broncos sit alone in first place in the MAC and head on the road this weekend, traveling to Buffalo on Friday before heading to Binghamton on Sunday.
