CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up the opening day of the 2025 ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by DePaul, on Thursday.
Sophomores Oscar Corwin and Alex Antonopolous both advanced to Friday's main singles draw. Corwin started off with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 win over DPU's Sven Moser. He later defeated Cleveland State's Devin Boyer 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). Corwin will now take on Ohio State's Nikita Filin on Friday at 3 p.m. ET. Antonopoulos opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over OSU's JP Day. He then defeated Notre Dame's Nicholas Patrick 6-2, 6-3. He will face off against Toledo's Poonthong Komolpisut at 7:30 p.m.
Freshmen Chen-Hui Ho opened up the tournament with a 6-2, 6-3 win over UT's Joshua Mackey. Ho then fell to Notre Dame's Evan Lee 6-4, 6-3.
Dimitri Moriarty and Jonas Keck both dropped their opening matches and moved into the Consolation Bracket, with each earning wins in two sets.
Corwin, Antonopolous, Ashton Adesoro and Tim Riedel are all in action tomorrow for the Singles Main Draw, while the Broncos will all be in action in doubles.
