HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the Hillsdale College GINA Relays on Saturday evening with a second place finish and a pair of third place finishes to highlight the day's competition.
Junior
Madison Ochs claimed second place in the shot put with a distance of 40' 0.75" (12.21m), while senior
Taylor Eaton took third place in the discus after reaching a distance of 128' 9" (39.25m) to close out the individual performances on the day.
The all freshmen squad of
Ahvon Mitchell,
Sarinity Bracey,
Grace Johnson and
Trinity Bracey combined to take third place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 48.83 seconds.
Claira Gilchrist, Mitchell and the Bracey sisters also combined to run a time of 4:03.83 and take fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.
Western Michigan heads back up to Grand Valley State next weekend for the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet before heading to Miami for the 2021 Outdoor MAC Championships on May 7-8.
