MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Western Michigan gymnastics team joined three other Mid-American Conference rivals for a final tune-up in advance of the MAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at Central Michigan. The host Chippewas posted the top team score at the meet of 196.425, followed by Eastern Michigan at 196.100, Ball State at 195.650 and the Broncos at 194.500.
These four teams will be joined by Kent State, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois next weekend for the 2021 MAC Gymnastics Championships, hosted by WMU at University Arena on Saturday, March 20. The meet is set for 2 p.m. ET and can be seen live on ESPN3.
The Broncos saw three career-high scores in competition on Saturday at CMU.
Dani Petrousek set a pair of personal bests, scoring 9.825 on floor and 9.775 on bars.
Arianna Mamelka added a personal best of 9.850 on balance beam.

Sarah Moravansky tied for WMU's best score on vault. The trio tied for ninth place overall with marks of 9.800. Harrison was WMU's top finisher on bars, posting a 9.850 which was good for fifth place. As usual,
Payton Murphy recorded the top WMU score on balance beam with her 9.875 good for fifth overall.
Carissa Ludwig and Murphy led the way for the Broncos on floor exercise at 9.850, good for seventh place overall.
