Broncos Host Eastern For Senior Day Meet

Team will recognize seniors Stacie Harrison, Alexis Olivier & Sarah Shirley following the meet

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Coming off a historic win at Kent State just three days ago, the Western Michigan gymnastics team hosts Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. ET. The Senior Day meet for the Broncos can be seen live on ESPN3.

| Scouting the Broncos

Western Michigan (4-3, 4-3 MAC) score over 196 as a team for the fifth time in program history its last time out, winning at Kent State (196.050-195.850) for the first time since 1991. Freshman Sarah Moravansky won the all-around competition, while sophomore Payton Murphy won on the vault and balance beam. Murphy's 9.9 on the balance beam marked her third 9.9 on the apparatus in the last four meets.

| Scouting the Eagles

Eastern Michigan (11-3, 3-2 MAC) travels to Kalamazoo following a victory at Northern Illinois on Friday, Feb. 19 (195.150-194.825). The Eagles own dual-meet MAC victories over Bowling Green and Kent State, as well as a second-place finish at the Eagle Invitational (won by Ball State) that included wins over Western Michigan and Kent State. In the win at NIU on Friday, Molly Parris won beam for EMU (9.850), while Hadyn Crossen finished as runner-up in the all-around competition (39.325).

| Senior Day

Following the meet, head coach Penny Jernigan and the program will recognize three seniors as Sunday marks the final regular season home meet of the year. The group includes Stacie Harrison, Alexis Olivier and Sarah Shirley. The trio has been instrumental in raising the program to new heights, including the 2020 Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship, WMU's first MAC gymnastics title since 2013.

| Up Next

The Broncos have one dual meet and one quad meet remaining in the regular season. WMU travels to Ball State on Sunday, Feb. 28, before visiting Central Michigan for a quad meet with the Chippewas, Cardinals and Eagles on Saturday, March 13.

That meet will serve as the final tune-up before Western Michigan hosts the 2021 MAC Gymnastics Championships in University Arena on Saturday, March. 20.
