Broncos Make Trek to Ohio for Tuesday Matchup

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On the road for the second time during Mid-American Conference play the Western Michigan men's basketball team makes the long trek to Athens, Ohio for a match-up with Ohio on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan heads into its second road MAC game of the season with an overall record of 2-9 and 1-5 in conference play. The Broncos are coming off a 79-68 loss to defending MAC regular season champion Akron on Saturday. WMU has lost four straight on the road to Ohio with its last win coming on Feb. 19, 2014.

Sweet Lee
Against Akron, senior Greg Lee led the way with a career-high 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Lee also had four rebounds to go along with a career-high four assists. It was the fifth game this season in which Lee has scored in double figures.

AD playing the PG
Junior guard Adrian Martin notched a career-high 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field against Akron. It was Martin's first game in double figures this season and just the second time in his career.

Bench Stepping Up
Over the past two games WMU has scored 77 points from its bench. The Broncos scored 51 points off the bench against Buffalo, marking the most bench points since Nov. 11, 2017.

Welcome Back
In his first game since Nov 15, 2019, Kawanise Wilkins returned to the court for the Brown & Gold against Akron. Wilkins in 17 minutes registered four points and three rebounds.

Lockdown Broncos
Western Michigan is one of just two schools in the MAC to rank in the top five in scoring defense, opponent field goal percentage, opponent three-point field goal percentage and opponent free-throw percentage.
