Men’s Basketball Hosts EMU on Senior Night

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the final time this season the Western Michigan men's basketball team will take the court at University Arena hosting in-state rival Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, March 3.

SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to the game the Western Michigan men's basketball program will honor senior Adida Ikongshul and Jared Printy. The duo has combined to play in 185 games for the Brown & Gold with both players earning Academic All-MAC honors each of the past two seasons.  

Scouting the Broncos
With two games left in the regular season the Broncos have an overall record of 12-17 and 5-11 in Mid-American Conference play. If the MAC Tournament were to end today the Broncos would be the No.11 seed and square off with No.6 seed Kent State on Monday, March 9.

Home Finale Success
Under head coach Steve Hawkins WMU is 11-5 in its home finales. However, WMU has lost the last two home finales, both coming against Eastern Michigan.

Grounding the Eagles
Inside University Arena the Broncos have won seven of the last 10 contest against Eastern Michigan. Under head coach Steve Hawkins WMU is 23-13 versus EMU.

Ice-Ice Printy
On Saturday senior Jared Printy connected a game-winning three-pointer with 5.8 seconds remaining as WMU defeated Northern Illinois. 72-69. It's the second game-winning three Printy has registered this season with his first coming back on Dec. 14 at Manhattan.

Home Sweet Home
With a win on Tuesday the Broncos can clinch its 10th win at home, marking its first 10-win season at home since the 2016-17 campaign. The Broncos have recorded 10 or more wins at home in 16 of the last 18 seasons.

Johnson Chasing 1,000
Redshirt junior Brandon Johnson looks to become the 44th member of WMU's 1,000-point club, needing just 38 points to do so. Johnson ranks second on the team with 15.1 points per game.

Keeping It 100
WMU has seven players with over 100 points this season, marking the fifth straight year the Broncos have done so.

Scouting the Opponent
Eastern Michigan heads into the final week of the regular season with an overall record of 16-14 and 6-10 in conference play. The Eagles have won four of their last six contests including a 67-63 home victory over Central Michigan on Saturday.

The Eagles are two players averaging in double figures with Ty Groce leading the team with 11.6 points per game. Boubacar Toure ranks second on the team at 11.1 points per game while also leading EMU with 9.3 rebounds per contest.
