CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference released the 2019-20 women's basketball postseason awards on Tuesday with redshirt senior forward
Breanna Mobley earning a spot on the All-MAC Second Team and redshirt sophomore
Jordan Walker earning Third Team honors, as voted by the league's 12 head coaches.
The honor stands as the fifth All-MAC accolade for Mobley and the first for Walker. Mobley was named to the All-MAC Third Team and Tournament Team in 2016-17, was an Honorable Mention selection in 2017-18, and earned an All-MAC Preseason nod at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
Walker led the Broncos in this season with 16.0 points per game (9
th/MAC) and added 74 assists and 65 steals (4
th/MAC). Mobley spent 2019-20 as the conference and team's leading rebounder, averaging 10.8 per game with 36 blocks (3
rd/MAC) and 42 assists.
At Ball State on February 1, Mobley surpassed 1,000 rebounds to become the second Bronco to have scored 1,000 points and collect 1,000 rebounds in her career, joining former WMU legend and coach Pat Charity, who hit the milestone in the 1977-78 season. On February 3 against Miami (Ohio), Mobley moved up to 1,028 rebounds to tie the all-time rebounding record, also earned by Charity, and broke the record on February 8 against Eastern Michigan to move to 1,038 rebounds in her career. Mobley now holds the rebounding record for all of Bronco basketball and is the fifth-highest scorer in women's basketball history. This season, Mobley also broke her previous single-season rebounding record of 307, the most in women's basketball history, with 325 in 2019-20.
Mobley recorded a season-high 23 points against Denver and in the February 19 game against Bowling Green, leading the Broncos in scoring and with 13 rebounds. Versus Central Michigan on January 18, she had 16 rebounds and seven assists. Mobley has registered a career-high 16 double-doubles during the 2019-20 season, with 22 games scoring in double digits and 23 with at least 10 rebounds.
Walker scored a career-high 33 points with seven made three-pointers and 13 field goals at home against Northern Illinois on February 29. She led the Broncos in scoring in 11 contests, starting and seeing action in all 30 of the team's games this fall. She surpassed 70 assists on the season on Saturday, March 7 against Ball State, and has totaled a squad-best 65 steals and team second-best 187 rebounds. Walker recorded a season-high 11 rebounds against Ball State on March 7 and notched a season-high nine assists versus Akron on January 25. Walker registered at least one steal in 27 games played, including a season-high five on two occasions.
