LAST TIME OUT
WMU traveled to Ohio on Saturday (January 11) to take on Kent State in another conference matchup, battling hard but ultimately falling at the hands of the Golden Flashes, 75-63.
Four of five Bronco starters had double-digit performances on the day, with redshirt senior
Breanna Mobley leading the pack with 16 points and 13 rebounds, good for her 11th double-double of the season. She tied for her season high with four blocks and added an assist, playing in nearly all 40 minutes of the contest.
Leighah-Amori Wool,
Kamrin Reed, and
Jordan Walker each tallied 11 points with at least one successful basket from three-point range.
Mobley reached a unique Bronco milestone during Saturday's game. She joins the ranks of only two other women's basketball players all-time in tallying at least 1000 points, 600 rebounds, and 100 blocks. The fifth-year starter added points in all three categories this afternoon, bringing her to 1,446 points, 958 rebounds, and 103 blocks and counting during her time with the Brown & Gold. Previous players to receive the honor are Kristin Koetsier (1999-2003) and Miracle Woods (2012-2016). Mobley is averaging 13.8 points and 10.7 rebounds, a conference-best, so far this season.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
The Broncos finished the nonconference portion of their season with an 8-4 mark, including four wins on the road. They are currently led in scoring by redshirt sophomore
Jordan Walker, who is averaging 16.1 points per game, a mark that also earns her a spot at fifth in the MAC. Redshirt senior
Breanna Mobley is averaging a double-double on the season with 13.6 points per game and 10.5 rebounds. She has held the top rebounding average spot in the conference since early November and is nearing 1,000 career rebounds to go along with a previously-earned accolade of 1,000 career points.
THE MATCHUP
The Broncos are 27-31 all-time against Ohio but are dominant at home with a 15-12 record. They are seeking their first win against the Bobcats since January 7, 2015, having dropped their last three meetings with the MAC east foe.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio likewise sits at 9-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC, having taken their first conference loss on Wednesday (Jan. 8) against Central Michigan. They are coming off of a 76-65 win against Buffalo in Bulls territory. At the helm of Bobcat basketball is Bob Holden, in his seventh season with the team. The MAC East team was tabbed to win the Mid-American Conference regular season championship, East Division and the MAC Tournament in the 2019-20 preseason coaches' poll.

COUNTDOWN TO 1000
Senior
Breanna Mobley has the chance to hit a unique Bronco milestone this season. She currently holds second place in the individual career records for rebounds with 923 and counting, and became a member of the 1,000-point club against Miami on Jan. 20, 2018. If she tallies at least 1,000 rebounds this season she will become the second ever Bronco to reach both 1,000 points and rebounds, alongside former WMU player and coach Pat Charity, who hit the milestone in the 1977-78 season.
SCORING MACHINE
Jordan Walker continues to dominate the Bronco scoresheet, averaging 16.2 points per contest. She currently holds the sixth-highest scoring average in the conference and is in the top 150 of points per game in the NCAA.
