YORKTOWN, Ind. – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up its season-opening tournament on Tues-day, with sophomore
Fiona Wang taking 11th overall at the Ball State Cardinal Classic at The Players Club Golf Course.

Her 11th place finish was the second-best of her career overall and the best 54-hole finish. She finished the tournament leading the team with 30 pars and also had seven birdies.
Overall the Broncos finished in seventh with a combined score of 931 (+67). The host Cardinals took first place with a score of 899 (+35), followed by IUPUI Taylor, Bradley, Eastern Michigan and Dayton. WMU finished ahead of Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Western Illinois and Prairie View A&M.
"This weekend we showed that we can put some good golf together in stretches, however we need to be more consistent," said head coach
Elise Swartout-Mosher. "A deeper focus on our process, coupled with hard work the next week and a half will help get us there."
