CLEVELAND – Coming off his first career complete game on Saturday, Western Michigan baseball freshman right handed pitcher
Brady Miller has been named Mid-American Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
In game two of its three-game series with Ohio this past weekend Miller pitched all nine innings, allowing just one run on eight hits with five strikeouts and zero walks. Of Miller's eight hits given up, none were for extra-bases. Miller became the first Bronco since
Keegan Akin in 2016 to toss a complete game.
On Saturday, Miller won his third straight start and improved his overall record to 5-2 and a lowered his ERA to a team-best 3.10. The 3.10 ERA to end the season is the lowest by a Bronco pitcher since Akin had a 1.82 ERA back in 2016.
The Plainfield, Ill., native ranks second in the MAC in victories among freshman and leads all freshman in the MAC with a conference record of 5-1. In his final three starts of 2019, Miller posted a 3-0 record with a 1.19 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched.
