Shane Clipfell has announced the hiring of former Bronco
Meredith Shipman as the new Director of Basketball Operations Monday, April 29.
Shipman returns to Western Michigan after serving as an assistant coach for two seasons at Davenport University under former WMU assistant coach
Rick Albro.

Meredith Shipman as our new Director of Basketball Operations," Clipfell commented. "When I knew we were going to have to replace Aimee in that position I immediately thought of Meredith. She was a terrific representative for us as a student-athlete and I am certain she is going to be a terrific director for us as well. She will be able to hit the ground running as she is very familiar with everything here at our great institution."
While competing in Brown & Gold from 2013-17, Shipman finished her career as a Bronco fourth in career three-pointers made (177), 11
th in career assists (285) and 13
th in career steals (159). She also finished her career tied for the third highest free-throw percentage (81.4 %),ninth highest 3-point field goal percentage (.348) and holds the WMU single-game record for most 3-pointers made in a game (nine, at Toledo, 1/9/16). Shipman played 127 career games and started in all 32 games both her junior and senior year, earning Third Team All-MAC honors her senior year. Additionally, Shipman was a two-year team captain, two-time Academic All-MAC recipient, MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete, and was voted WMU's Teammate Award twice.
Her responsibilities as director of basketball operations will include assisting in the day-to-day operations of the basketball program, focusing on administrative duties, travel and logistics, film breakdown, community service coordination and summer camps.
