KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Wednesday the Mid-American Conference announced that redshirt sophomore
Logan Hudson of Western Michigan baseball has been named Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.
During the week of Feb. 25 through March 3 Hudson played a three-game series at South Florida, registering a staggering .556 batting average and had at least one hit in two of the three games.
In the series finale on Sunday, Hudson had a career day going 4-for-5 at the plate with a career-high six RBIs along with his second home run of the season. Hudson alone scored six of the Broncos' nine runs in game three, including a bases clearing double in the top of the ninth to highlight a four-run ninth for WMU.
Hudson's six RBIs was three shy of the program record and the most by a Bronco since senior
Nate Grys had seven last season against Northwestern. The Caledonia, Mich., native became the second WMU player this season to post at least four RBIs.
In the classroom, Hudson has a 3.64 cumulative grade point average in accounting.
